Dynamite Cars Terms and Conditions
PICKUP LOCATIONS
Pick up and drop off Auckland, Hamilton and Christchurch Airports by arrangement (flight arrival details required, please contact us if your flight into NZ is delayed.
Free pickup and drop-off within 5kms from serviced airports, other locations by arrangement (please enquire at the time of your booking)
Late returns incur fees, vehicles returned a day or more late will incur a fee of 250% of the daily charges.
RETURNING VEHICLES
Vehicles must be returned in a clean and tidy condition with all toilet and grey water holding tanks emptied and flushed, fuel tanks must be full or at least to the level as noted on the rental agreement. Refueling Fees are charged at twice the fuel cost. All cutlery, pots, pans etc. are to be washed and stored. Cleaning fees up to $200.00 will be charged for dirty vehicles.
AFTER HOURS
A fee of $50 will be charged for after hours (6:00pm to 7:00am) pickup and drop-off unless other arrangements have been agreed to.
HIRE PERIOD
Minimum hire period is seven days (unless other arrangements have been agreed to) Hire commences from the day of pick up to the day of drop off. Hire charges are based on a daily cost calculated from day of pick up as day one to drop off as the last day.
UNLIMITED TRAVEL
All of Dynamite rentals daily rental rates are on an unlimited kilometer basis. Additional fees charged for Diesel vehicles @ $5.00 per 100 kilometers for diesel recovery tax. N.B. diesel fuel tax is not charged at the pump in NZ, instead it’s a separate charge that the company pays per kilometer at a rate of $5.00 per 100 kilometers.
DIESEL TAX
Diesel tax will be charged for diesel powered vehicles at $5.00 per 100 kilometers.
CAMPING PARKS
There are more than 300 fully equipped camping parks spread around New Zealand. Booking is not normally necessary except during the peak holiday periods (December to January for popular areas).
ROAD RULES
In New Zealand we drive on the left side of the road and give way to traffic from the right. Speed limits are strictly enforced: 50 kilometers per hour in urban areas and 100 kilometers per hour on the highways. Distances are measured in kilometers.
NO SMOKING
No smoking allowed in our vehicles.
PETS
No pets allowed in our vehicles, how ever we can make exceptions in the case of special circumstances, a fee of 20% of the hire charge will usually apply.
DRIVER'S LICENCE
A standard car license with a photo and written in English is all that is required to drive in New Zealand. All drivers must present a current New Zealand, International, or acceptable overseas license written in English at commencement of hire, a photo copy of drivers licenses will be taken at the start of your hire. Hirers and drivers must be over 18 years of age, hirers under 25 years will be charged 25% more than listed rates.
PERSONAL TRAVEL INSURANCE
Personal injury in New Zealand is covered by the Accident Compensation Commission. We strongly advise hirer/s to take out a fully comprehensive travel insurance package prior to commencement of their travels which will also cover you for the rental vehicle excess amount as well as any loss or damage to personal items.
DEPOSIT
A 15% deposit is required upon confirmation to secure a booking.
CANCELLATION POLICY
We strongly recommend that our clients purchase comprehensive travel insurance.
The initial deposit paid is non-refundable. In addition to forfeiting your deposit, the following charges also apply:
A $50.00nz cancellation fee applies to all confirmed bookings and in additional to this fee the following charges apply:
Cancellation 43 days + prior to pick-up date – No additional fees, only $50.00nz.
Cancellation 42 days to 28 days prior to pick up date - 15% of gross rental (includes deposit)
Cancellation 27 days to 12 days prior to pick up date - 50% of gross rental (includes deposit)
Cancellation 11 days to 5 days prior to pickup - 75% of gross rental (includes deposit)
Within 5 days of pick up date or no show - 100% (includes deposit)
Travel insurance
We strongly recommend that clients ensure they take out the highest level of travel insurance. In many cases this will cover any losses incurred if you are forced to cancel your booking.
EARLY RETURNS
No refunds for early returns or days not used (unless approved by management)
ALTERATION POLICY
Alterations to confirmed bookings will incur a $50.00 charge (unless approved by management)
PAYMENT
An initial non-refundable deposit will be secured at time of booking confirmation.
Payments: Visa, Mastercard, Cash or Direct credit to our bank account are accepted.
The final balance due will be taken from your nominated credit card directly by the Supplier approx. 33 days prior to the pick up of your vehicle. Please ensure that you have funds available at this time.
If the booking is made within 33 days of the start then Supplier will take payment upon confirmation.
CREDIT CARDS
We only accept Visa and Mastercard credit cards and all transactions are conducted in New Zealand Dollars. We do not accept any responsibility for exchange rate fluctuations or credit card companies’ charges. Payments made by Visa or Mastercard will incur an additional 2% surcharge.
LINEN AND BEDDING
Linen and bedding is not complimentary on hires 10 days or less, how ever a linen and bedding pack can be supplied at the following charges; 6 motorhomes - $90.00, 4 berth motorhomes - $80.00, 2 berth campers and sleepervans - $70.00. The packs include: Towels, linen, pillows, bedding, duvets, light weight sleeping bags (can be used as extra cover) tea towels, etc.
Dynamite Cars Car GOLD Cover – All inclusive – (No worries cover)Pay $30.00 per day reduces the excess/bond to $100.00
- The All Inclusive Rate includes: Unlimited Kilometers,15% GST, Diesel Tax Recovery Fee (if applicable), Complimentary Airport Transfers (within 5 kilometers of the airport), ONE Extra Driver Fee, 24hr Roadside Assistance, Maps & Camp-Ground Guides, One-Way Rental Fee, Free tire puncture repairs, Two free tire replacements, One free windshield replacement, Three free windshield stone chip repairs.
- Reduced excess/bond from NZD2400.00 to NZD100.00
- The maximum amount payable for this Option per rental is NZD1500.00 – i.e. 50 days rental.
- A Bond of NZD100.00 will be collected at the time of entering into the Rental Contract.
Dynamite Cars: Car SILVER Cover, Pay $20.00 per day reduces the excess/bond to $1200.00
- Complimentary Airport Transfers (within 5 kilometers of the airport), One Extra Driver Fee, 24hr Roadside Assistance, Maps & Camp-Ground Guides.
- Reduced excess/bond from NZD2400.00 to NZD1200.00
- The maximum amount payable for this Option per rental is NZD1000.00 – i.e. 50 days rental.
- A Bond of NZD1200.00 will be collected at the time of entering into the Rental Contract
INSURANCE EXCLUSIONS
Standard cover or Reduction Options Gold or Silver DO NOT COVER: The hirer is liable for any damage to the vehicle hired or third party property if:
1. Damage due to immersion in either Salt or Fresh water for any reason and any associated costs for recovery or towing.
2. Filling the vehicle with the incorrect or contaminated fuel. The hirer will be responsible for any associated costs of recovery or repair.
3. Costs to replace lost keys or to retrieve keys locked in the vehicle.
4. Any and all overhead damage taken from a line from the top of the drivers cab to the top of the vehicle or any underbody damage to the vehicle
5. Damage caused by theft, break-ins, conversion, vandalism, or fire damage that is directly attributable to the negligence of the hirer or any other passenger in the vehicle.
6. Personal belongings. We recommend that the hirer takes out personal insurance and does not leave valuables in the vehicle while away from it.
7. Any costs that arise due to negligence or any willful damage caused by the hirer, any named driver or any person travelling in the vehicle.
8. Any damage caused to the vehicle or any third party property if the vehicle is driven by an unauthorized or underage driver or if the terms of the rental agreement are breached or any damage is caused to the interior of the vehicle.
9. Damage is caused to the vehicle by the use of snow chains
10. Damage is caused due to a single vehicle roll over
11. Damage is caused to the vehicle when using the vehicle in contravention of any legislation or regulation controlling vehicular traffic
WINDSCREENS
Windscreen breakage and or damage will be deducted from the bond, unless you GOLD Cover has been purchased.

BOND REDUCTION OPTIONS
These are available at the time of booking or can be purchased upon arrival. The insurance excess will be held in the form of a Bond this can be paid in the form of a credit card imprint, Cash, Travellers cheques or a Bank transfer. The bond is fully refundable at the completion of hire, provided the vehicle is returned in a reasonably clean and tidy condition, the car has not been damaged or involved in an accident, the fuel tank is full, there is no additional glass damage (such as chips to the windscreen) and the Supplier doesn't incur costs as a result of your hire e.g. traffic infringements, speeding tickets etc. All tickets are the sole responsibility of the driver/hirer and will be deducted from the insurance bond if not resolved by the hirer. A charge of NZ$50.00 administration fee will be charged to the Bond for each traffic infringement
